22mm run where 28mm should have been, or 15mm feeding a radiator that needs 22mm, the system will never balance. Symptom: one room always cold.

A chemical flush cleans a reasonably clean system before a new boiler. A power flush uses a high-flow pump to strip out years of iron oxide sludge, the right call when radiators are visibly cold at the bottom or the system has never had a filter. We'll tell you which one your system actually needs.
Modern low-content radiators heat up faster and use less water. Thermostatic radiator valves (TRVs) on every room except the one with the wall thermostat let each space set its own temperature, cheap, effective, and required by Building Regulations on new installs.
Simple programmer + wall stat is legal but rarely optimal. Two-zone controls (upstairs/downstairs, or hot water separate from heating) and modern smart thermostats give real control over what you pay to heat.
Combi for smaller homes with one bathroom; system boiler with an unvented cylinder for family homes running multiple showers; regular where an existing loft tank stays. We spec what your actual demand needs, not what's easiest to sell.

Only if the system is heavily contaminated (cold-bottom radiators, black water, sludge visible on a magnet). Otherwise a proper chemical flush plus a magnetic filter is enough. We tell you which after inspecting.
